Ember was our first Somali. Our daughter, Emily, wanted a cat she could brush. We thought it would be nice to have a cat that would benefit from regular brushing but would not suffer if she missed a day or two. A Somali fitted the bill perfectly.
Ember adores being groomed and will lie down on the bed and purr as soon as he sees his comb.
We all fell in love with Ember as soon as we saw him. He came over to us and purred while all his litter mates were a bit more hesitant.
Ember did very well at shows but was not really happy at them. We took him until he got his Premier and then let him retire. He was Best in Show Neuter at his first show as an adult.
