Raggy is our first stud. We first saw him as an 8 day old kitten when we went to collect Bailey from Valerie Davidson's house. Valerie had two litters of Bailey's kittens at the time. It was about 5 weeks later that Sue decided she had to have one of the kittens. Originally he was going to be a pet, but as he matured Valerie suggested that we might want to let him sire a few litters before having him neutered. After a very long discussion, we agreed.
Raggy has been quite successful on the show bench. As a kitten he was nominated at 5 out of his 6 shows. He was BIS (3-6 months) and again as a Junior. He now has won 10 BIS as an adult and 1 as a neuter.
At the 2003 Abyssinian and Somali special, Raggy was the Best Somali Adult in the show!
Raggy was named the "Entire Cat of the Year 2003" at the Felis Britannica show in December! He also went on to be Best in Show and the Overall Best Exhibit in Category 3!!
In June 2004 Raggy finally became a European Champion and was semi-retired for a year then in August 2005 he won his Distinguished Show Merit, the highest award he can get!. He has obtained 11 Best in Shows and 2 Best Opposite Sexes during his show career. He will now only be shown at a few selected shows.
Raggy has been neutered but will be staying here as a pet.
